Today we learnt how to use fractions in our problem.
The problem is you are making a fruit salad and you need 2/3 of a cup of passion fruit. You have 1/2,1/4 and a 1/6 sized measuring cup.
How will you measure the passion fruit?
We solved it doing 2/3 x 2= 4/6
so 4 divided by 2 = 2
and 6 divided by 2 =3
so the final answer is that you need 4 1/6 cups to make 2/3.
On Thursday 6th of May 2021 Room 7 went on a Wonderful trip to the Sky Tower
As we were hopping out of the school bus, I felt amazed and fascinated because of how tall the sky tower was. I quickly got into a line and was so happy because I wanted to go and see the beautiful view at the top of the Sky Tower. As Mrs Raj called her line I was already getting butterflies before entering the building.
We went down the escalator heading towards our tudors ( Maria and Copper) and they were amazing!We entered a big colorful room and it was so cool. I saw 2 girls and they were in jumpsuits and they looked like they were gonna jump off the sky tower so we went into a room and it was like a mini Movie theater. We watched a few clips about the Sky tower and then we answered a bunch of questions every three videos.
Then as we finished watching all the clips we were slowly going up to level 51. There were only 10 (students/People) allowed to go in the elevator at a time. As I was going into the elevator with my classmates I was the only one scared. I was so Nervous and petrified because I knew we were going so high.
When both groups were at level 51 we were so scared because there were see thru glass on the floor . Everytime we would look down at the see thru glass when we walked over it we would always want to go back off. We were walking around and all of a sudden we saw people jumping down the sky tower. Could you imagine how scary it would be to jump off. We all settled down and watched many more people jumping off the Sky Tower, even an old man jumping off the Sky Tower. Then me and the rest of the groups did some paperwork that was given from the tutores.
We settled down onto the ground and had a light morning tea. I had just a few chips and a chicken kabab. After that I was so full and was ready to move on to the next step. We had one more tour around and then went for the stairs heading down to level 45 which was a refuge. The refuge had no view but just metal everywhere, Maria, Our tutor explained to us why they made level 45 a refuge.
After that discussion about the refuge we took the elevator up to level 61. As we took foot out the elevator Maria our tour guide told us we could lead on the window. I was so frightened because we were so high up, but our student teacher Miss Woodhall came up to me and made me feel so confident to go lie on the glass. So I just got back up and thought about all the things she told me and I just faced my fear just then. I was so happy and relieved.
After having so much fun we had to take the elevator back to level 51. We had another tour around level 51 and saw more people jumping off the Sky Tower. After the one last tour around level 51 we were heading back into the elevator and taking it back to the ground floor where it came from. When we got to the ground floor we had to get in six lines, Mrs Raj then asked our ( Head Boy Soane ) to go up and say a big thank you to Maria and Cooper. Then we got back into the bus and went back to school with so many memories about the SkyTower.
